Incredibly disappointing I am a really a big fan of Daniel waters and while there is some evidence of great comedic writing after heathers there has been nothing but disappointment after disappointment. There have been some great premises that he has thought up only to falter. “Happy Campers” Was not to great but a intresting idea. I liked his scripts for “Batman Returns” and “Demolition Man”. I even liked “The Adventures Of Ford Fairline”, “Hudson Hawk” and the unused script for “Catwoman” but with this I just wonder if he is uninspired or at a crossroads. I’m not entirely sure it’s his fault but unfortunately for him his is the name that is listed and credited as the director but I still have faith in him. After writing heathers I was ready to make him the master of the dark comedy.

This film he has decided to make a sex comedy the major problem here is that this is a sex comedy with no intimacy no really hot sex scenes. In fact few sex situations. yes tons of nudity but that’s it. It’s a comedy but it comes off as a film school thesis with it’s philosophy lessons, the implications of fate and feminism theory. It comes off more pretentious then anything.

I can use the usual complaints of the actor being good looking but every actress who is hot in this film failing for him when he doesn’t have to be charming at any point too Much don’t get me wrong I like the characters maybe if they were in a different film or this film longed to achieve more as a story or in making a point or at least some more comedy somewhere. It wouldn’t be such a letdown. I even like the actors a lot of them I haven’t seen in a while.

The film is not a total disappointment. There are some points of inspires comedy the accidental sex at the bachelor party scene. and any scene with Patton oswalt in it.

The plot is a man on the verge of getting married receives a list of not only every girl he has slept with but every girl he will before he dies which reaches up to 101 he is only currently at 29. So the film follows how he keeps scoring with different women he know he will get. There is a side story with Winona Ryder as Death Knell a feminist serial killer who sleeps with then murders men she has one night stands with that really doesn’t need to be here or at least not a forefront storyline it would have been more effective if it was more in the background and him not noticing then it comes back to bite him in the ass for an ironic ending.

Instead it ends trying to be romantic and sweet. Switching up things we thought were final in the end. It end’s up being a total reverse which feels like a cop out. Was it too much to ask for some actual good sex scenes in this film that were a t least erotic the one’s in this film feel Clinical and stale

If you want to see it wait for cable don’t go out of your way to actually find it.
