Lawman Luke Hobbs and outcast Deckard Shaw form an unlikely alliance when a cyber-genetically enhanced villain threatens the future of humanity. This film is a spinoff for the most popular characters from the series who started off as villains and then became fan favorite heroes.

This movie is full on over the top Action and comedy. Where we mainly watch to wait and see what the next action sequence will bring. In between they fill in the plot and character motivations.

I Will admit I stopped watching the fast and furious movies after the fourth one with any regularity. Along the way have seen bits and pieces but haven’t really watched them fully through or know the progress of the movies. So this moves characters are somewhat familiar for me but i can’t say I am That knowledgeable. This one is more fun because of the humor and the surprising cameos

The storyline feels more like an action oriented spy movie mixed with a kind of superhero film. I am guessing this is an example for he next generation buddy cop film to a degree.

As the storyline kind of reminds the audience of the recent one in the James Bond 007 movies where there has been a conspiracy to destroy the world and in particular the heroes due to -some vendetta and some of the world’s most powerful people are behind it.

Here there seems to be a mash-up of styles. Where as Jason Stratham and his character are more the cool spy. That can deal with hand to hand combat but usually deals with guns and weapons. He comes off more as smooth and dealing with espionage. The rock’s character is more down and dirty gritty hand to hand combat and fighting mano e mano and also finding any reason to have his shirt off, More the traditional action hero.

This is more an action movie that provides the feminine side of the audience plenty of eye candy. For the men there is a scene of hot all female assassins as well as female co-Star Vanessa Kirby

My only problem when it comes to movies starring the rock is that he is so huge that it is going to take a lot to feel he is ever in danger of losing a fight or that he is ever in any real danger period I know it’s all about victory in the end and how they get there but no challenge is ever really believable. Which is a similar problem I have with THE EQUALIZER series of films he never really has an opponent that is threatening to him Realistically.

This film luckily doesn’t rely on so much cars and car chases that will impress the audience. This is more an over extended action comedy that feels like a amusement park ride. Something perfect for the summer. That I hate to admit for all of It’s Overblown production. It is a rather charming and fun movie.
