This is a experimental film already not my favorite type of films but I decided to give it a try based on the director. It was a mistake.

Now i loved his previous film LILYA-4-EVER, So i was looking forward to giving this film a try. A drama suppsedly about porn and loneliness.

The set up is two friends make adult films in there apartment and a woman comes by to be apart of the film they do this while one of the men’s son who lives there stays holed up in his room. This would have made a interesting premise for a play or existential film since the central theme of this film is desperation and loneliness.

Given that the film is based around porn I thought if nothing else the film would be entertaining in at least a sexual way. No this is one of those films that makes sex and porn in general cheap and disgusting which some people feel is right and I don’t argue there feeling s on the subject. But this film not only does that but has a lot of unnecessary disgusting shots of body parts and such for no real reason and sometimes it just seems to do it for shock as accompying these sudden shots are loud sounds and music. While it makes these shots unforgettable there is still really no need for them as they don’t move the story forward or make the film or characters deeper or more understandable.

The film was originally supposed to be filmed in the US the director thought of Christina Aguilera for the lead female and Sylvester Stallone as the Father.

I don’t understand how a director such as Lukas moodysson can make a film this horrible when he has made a film Lilya-4-ever which is so moving and heartfelt that it is one of my favorite movies. It’s almost like this film is trying to make us care about the characters who probably had a hand in the tragedy that happens in the previous film to Lilya. I think this film is to arty for arts sake. It is like watching 4 characters have a breakdown of 2 hours aided by alcohol and drugs.

It boasts 4 camera people it just seems like a film that was more fun to make for everyone then actually watching it. This film that tries to find a understanding and beauty in Decadence. The Director has said that in a perfect world this movie would not have been made which i can agreee with though i see no reasn in this world that this film had to be made while it shows promise it needs a little more cultivation before it could be fully understood or made.

Skip it.
