WARNING SPOILER HEAVY. ONLY READ IF YOU HAVE WATHCED THIS FILM...

The difference in this remake instead of just being a run of the mill serial killer film. Like the original where the killer kills only women in states of undress with tools from a toolbox for his own personal use. Now the killer is some kind of deranged mongoloid that is somehow connected to a cult that had meetings at this hotel that all the characters live in since there is constant construction going on at the hotel for renovations. The killer uses tools that are laying around.

The original was not a hard film to improve on. I can understand the filmmakers wanting to keep the title and find a way to include tools with the killer. It helps to give us a mystery and a explination. The story just feels like it was a already written scriopt and they knew it wouldn't sell on it's own so making it a remake and including a few aspects to make it live up to it's title helped. Unfortunately it still seems ill concieved and a waste.I don't min dthem remaking a bad movie. In fact i applaud it. I just wish some more thought was put into it overall. If i didn't know better i would swear they were making it up as they went along.

The kills are good, but that is the only thing that is interesting about the film. Other then the violence the film is horrible. I don't know what happened to Tobe Hooper, If this was a paycheck job or what butt This film is dreck. Even for a haoor film. It starts off a s a who done it before revealing, it's more supernatural aspects.

It is a movie that simply didn't need to be made. It just seems like an excuse for gruesopme violence and kills. No real creativity.

The film is a major diappointment considering the director and the star. Angela Bettis who is becoming the Jamie Lee Curtis of low budget horror films, but always pulls through with believable performances. This plays almost like a bad extended episode of MASTERS OF HORROR.

It's shocking to me that after this abysmal remake that they would go try another remake. Which they actually succeed ast maybe they learned what not to do from this experience.

SKIP IT
